SUMMER STUDENT EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

The Historical Society is seeking applications for temporary full-time Museum Assistant(s). The successful candidate(s) will report to and assist the Executive Director of the Lacombe & District Historical Society with duties relating to the daily operations of the Museums and Archives in Lacombe. JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job title: Museum Assistant
Location: Flatiron Museum & Interpretive Centre and/or Michener House Museum & Archives, Lacombe, Alberta 
Wage: $14.00 per hour 
Start Date: June 1, 2013 to September 3, 2013 
Work Week: Wednesday to Sunday. (some flexibility possible) 
Job Description: to provide visitor services, tourism information, give tours of historic venues and host walking tours of historic downtown, assist with archives and museum collection, among other possible duties to assist the Executive Director of Lacombe & District Historical with day to day operations of the museums. 
Qualifications: Applicant must meet the Young Canada Works guidelines; be over 16 years in age and registered as a full-time student for the fall of 2013. Applicant must have good communication skills, be fluent in English and have good computer skills.
